The Hicetae are ascetics and in everything orthodox, with this exception, that they congregate with women in monasteries and offer to God hymns accompanied by music and dancing in imitation, as it were, of the dance organized in Moses time on the occasion of the destruction of the Egyptians which took place in the Red Sea.
